The zine and the PAR36 installation pay tribute to a humble, understated, and utilitarian light that serves not only as an analog light source but also as an aesthetic tool. Its conventional purpose was primarily to illuminate disco balls. It is a capable workhorse, usually standing in the shadow of something bigger and more efficient than itself. This time, the roles are reversed – the PAR36 finds itself in the spotlight, in its own light.

The choice of risograph printing for the zine is no coincidence. It is seen as a kind of analogy to this very imperfect light – the result is often unpredictable, uneven, and inconsistent. Subtle lens distortions give each beam of light its own character and texture, and the zine is their graphic imprint – a record of ephemeral light drawings in space.
